Wireless Generation - Educational Assessment and Professional Development
Reading First Professional Development

Reading First professional development is a professional development session that is tied to Reading First mandates.  Often, Reading First professional development offerings can revolve around Reading First approved assessments, such as DIBELS® (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills).  DIBELS measures provide quick, simple measures of student performance in fundamental literacy skills.  Currently, DIBELS is the most widely selected assessment for Reading First.  DIBELS has been cited for its excellent compatibility with Reading First.  Efficient Reading First professional development should help educators create plans for administering assessments, develop models for using results to inform instruction and intervention strategies, and analyze individual assessment data to pinpoint specific student needs.

Wireless Generation provides on-request professional development services for DIBELS.  These courses range from sessions that delineate the scientific research and theories driving DIBELS, as well as its maintenance and administration on the mCLASS® platform. In addition, sessions demonstrate classroom application of assessment results to inform instructional decisions. Most sessions are facilitated by a trainer with extensive preparation from the Dynamic Measurement Group.

Today, 2 million  students are being assessed with Wireless Generation's mCLASS handheld-to-Web software.  The mCLASS database contains millions of data points on student learning in early reading, offering unique insight into what is working and what is not in reading programs around the country.  Wireless Generation has developed its professional development offerings through careful analysis of data trends and relationships, combined with deep knowledge of how reading programs are actually being implemented from the district level down to classrooms.  Wireless Generation Professional Development distills best practices and tailors them to your specific needs and goals.

Available for other K-3 reading assessments, Wireless Generation Professional Development sessions are lead by highly qualified literacy assessment specialists, each a former educator with hands-on classroom experience and in-depth knowledge of data-informed decision-making.

Wireless Generation, Inc. provides educators with the most advanced system for collecting and using assessment data, helping to create a culture of continuous feedback and improvement in classrooms across the country.
