Co-Founder & CEO
Larry Berger is CEO and co-founder of Wireless Generation, an education company that has pioneered the adaptation of emerging technologies to improve PreK–12 teaching and learning. Mr. Berger led the invention of Wireless Generation's mCLASS® system, which enables educators to administer early reading and math formative assessments using handheld computers and then immediately receive results, analysis, and support for differentiated instruction. Today, Wireless Generation serves more than 3 million children and hosts one of the largest databases of longitudinal student data in the country.

Josh has been working in educational technology for more than 20 years, holding leadership positions in both commercial and nonprofit organizations. Prior to joining Wireless Generation, Josh was vice president of eSCORE.com, a provider of online, interactive educational services for parents and children. There, Josh oversaw all operations, product development, and marketing for eSCORE.com's parent services unit.

Laurence Holt
EVP & Chief Product Officer
Laurence Holt oversees product development at Wireless Generation. He leads product strategy and management for the company and oversees the engineering, design, and production of the company's software solutions.
Prior to joining Wireless Generation, Holt founded Quidnunc, a business and technology consulting firm with clients such as Apple Inc., Sprint, the BBC, and Goldman Sachs. As CEO and later Chairman of Quidnunc, Holt led major consulting engagements; facilitated more than 100 workshops; spoke frequently at events such as The Economist CIO conference; authored papers on Customer Interaction and E-Commerce; and ran two private equity rounds raising $30 million. He also joined the Board of Directors of the Computing Software and Services Association.

As Chief of Staff, Zach Silverstein is the senior aide to the CEO. He oversees the Office of the CEO, interacts with Wireless executives, employees, and others on behalf of the CEO, and advises on company policy, corporate strategy, and internal operations.

SVP Operations
Patrick Smith is Wireless Generation's vice president of operations and is responsible for managing service delivery in our Account Management, Technical Services, Professional Services, Training, Customer Data, and Customer Care departments.
Prior to joining Wireless Generation, he was a senior vice president with Aon Consulting where over the course of seven years he held various management positions in their Call Center Performance Measurement, Employment Process Outsourcing, and Human Capital Services business units. His other work experience includes General Electric, where he managed their service delivery operations in New York City and the U.S. Army, where he attained the rank of Captain serving in various leadership positions. He holds a B.S. from the United States Military Academy and an M.B.A from Hofstra University.

Deborah Reck co-founded The Writers’ Express (WEX) as a non-profit in 1994 to develop tools for teachers to use in literacy instruction for grades 3–12. She also led the organization’s merger with Wireless Generation in 2009.
Over the past seventeen years, Debbie has worked with thousands of teachers to discover the most powerful and efficient instructional methods for real students in real classrooms. By figuring out ways to assess students’ writing performance at least once a day and systematically track that performance in response to particular pedagogical methods, Debbie and her team have identified a unique writing sequence that accelerates the development of literacy skills for all students, from the most struggling to the highest achieving.

Leslie Kerner is Wireless Generation's Vice President of Professional Services and is responsible for building and managing the training, professional development, and consulting services we offer to schools. She manages a team of instructional designers and consultants to develop and deliver services that help teachers use data from mCLASS® assessments to differentiate instruction in their classrooms.

Laszlo Kopits has overall responsibility for all legal matters affecting Wireless Generation, including commercial transactions, intellectual property, mergers and acquisitions, employment, and compliance.
Prior to joining Wireless Generation, Laszlo was vice president and principal legal counsel for Reuters America, where he oversaw a team of attorneys responsible for all commercial transactions for Reuters in North America. Prior to that, Laszlo worked as a corporate attorney at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York and Budapest, specializing in mergers and acquisitions, technology, and privatization.

Richard has been working in finance and banking for over 13 years, within both financial firms and operating companies.
Prior to joining Wireless Generation, Richard spent two years as a director for Kluge & Company, a private equity firm run by John Kluge. At Kluge & Company, Richard was responsible for overseeing operations, managing the budgeting process, and leading financial transactions for 11 portfolio companies. Richard also made recommendations on new business proposals and performed investor relation activities.

VP Sales
James Mylen is Wireless Generation's vice president of sales and is responsible for leading our field-based sales team. Jim brings us more than 20 years experience in working with school districts to implement technology-based assessment, instruction, and curriculum management programs.
Jim has held various sales executive positions with leading K–12 educational technology companies, including The Princeton Review, 4GL School Solutions, National Computer Systems/Pearson Education, and The McGraw-Hill Companies. Jim began his career with an entrepreneurial company, DataGuide Systems, that developed the first PC-based norm-referenced test-scoring software in 1985, called TestMate. This company was successfully built into a multi-million dollar business and was acquired by McGraw-Hill in 1990. Mr. Mylen has a B.A. in Marketing/Business Administration from Fairfield University.

John Stewart oversees Wireless Generation's research and data analysis efforts in support of the company's product development, professional development, and consulting groups.
At Wireless Generation, Stewart previously managed the infrastructure and IT operations groups, and before that, the software development group that designed and built the company’s handheld assessment platform.

David Stevenson
VP Business Development & Government Affairs
David Stevenson is responsible for policy, advocacy, and outreach activities at Wireless Generation. He is also responsible for identifying and developing partnership relationships with publishers, universities, and other K–12 organizations. Finally, he oversees the company's corporate development.
At Wireless Generation, Stevenson previously managed the product development group, where he personally led the software teams that developed the TPRI and Tejas LEE assessment products. He has developed partnerships with the University of Texas, the University of Chicago, and major publishers including Pearson, Harcourt, and McGraw-Hill.
